Stithians Ladies Choir was founded in 1966 by the late Sydney Bowden who was the Choir Master and Organist at Penmennor Methodist Church, Stithians.
At that time there was a membership of 65 and 10 of those founder members are still singing in the Choir today.
Competing at musical festivals is an important part of the Choir's annual programme of events as this helps to maintain the high standard for which the Choir is so renowned.
The Choir enjoy trips away from Cornwall, and have during the past few years, visited, Bournemouth, Cheltenham, Wells, Jersey the Isle of Wight, Kingsbridge and Holsworthy.
The Choir is in great demand for concerts throughout Cornwall and Devon and, over the years, has helped raise many thousands of pounds for charity.
Rehearsal takes place at 7.30pm each Friday evening, at Penmennor Methodist Church, Stithians when New Members will be made most welcome.
