WELCOME TO KANORYON ENEV - 'SINGERS WITH SOUL'!

An Introduction To:
T h e . S t. J u s t . C o m m u n i t y . C h o i r
We are called Kanoryon Enev which means ‘singers of soul’ in Cornish. We are a non-audition community choir for anyone who wants to sing. You don’t have to be a ‘singer’, if you’ve ever just wanted to have a go this is the perfect environment for you. We sing music from all around the world in two, three and four part harmony. Everything is taught by ear, so you don’t need to be able to read music.
Every so often we perform, usually at the annual festivals 'Lafrowda' (St. Just), and 'Golowan' (Penzance) in the summer, Morvah Church (Pendeen) in the Autumn and St. Mary's Church (Penzance) at Christmas. This is what Frank Ruhrmund from 'The Cornishman' newspaper had to say about us last year after a performance in St. Mary's Church, Penzance: “Kanoryon Enev…were simply superb and threatened the very architecture of St. Mary’s church with their spirited versions of songs from various parts of the world.”
We are now supported by the First Steps Learning Fund, the Neighbourhood Renewal Community Chest and the Neighbourhood Renewal Community Learning Chest.
We are taking a 1 year break following our final performance of 20th July 2007. We will be back for next years Lafrowda festival, but in the mean time please continue to support our sister choir Levow An Bys. Thank you to all our members past and present, and to our supporters over the last 6 years. See you in the Summer of 2008!
